The main compartment is designed to carry a pair of binoculars or a small camera. It is padded on all 4 sides, plus the base.
The hidden rear compartment is big enough for a phone or notebook.
QRS FRONT STRAP
One 'Quick Release System' leather front strap is stitched to the top flap for when you need fast, silent access to spot that bird or animal.
Just pull the leather strap down-and-off the brass clogball to open.
REMOVABLE SHOULDER SLING
The shoulder sling can be adjusted to suit your height or removed completely.
When you aren't carrying the bag on your shoulder, it can attach to a belt using the belt fixings on the back of the bag.
WEATHERPROOF FLAP
The sculpted main flap provides protection for unwanted elements and dust getting into the main compartment.
DRAWSTRING PULL
Further protection for the main compartment comes from waterproof material around the opening under the top flap. A drawstring pull ensures any gear inside is protected from the weather.
This is in addition to the 3-layer waterproof fabric the top flap and rest of the bag is constructed from.
BINOCULARS OR CAMERAS
Our Galbin cases were originally designed with binoculars in mind, however can be used for cameras too.
With a hidden back pocket for a small notebook, passport or wallet it's a really handy case!

No. The fabric is made of 3 layers - the middle layer is butyl rubber. Water cannot pass through this butyl rubber layer. As long as you don't get a hole in the fabric or expose it to harsh chemicals (for example in a washing machine) the fabric should remain waterproof for many years. There is no need to apply re-proofing.
In simple terms ‘Canvas’ or ‘FibreNyte’ refers to top layer of fabric on our bags – the facecloth.
‘Canvas’ is a mix of cotton and polyester. ‘FibreNyte’ refers to our face fabric that is completely synthetic. Canvas is hard wearing, FibreNyte is very hard wearing.
Both fabrics are bonded to a non-wicking polyester backing fabric with a middle layer butyl rubber – this rubber layer makes both fabrics equally (and very) waterproof. Water can’t get through that rubber layer.
Both fabrics have a similar weave - the FibreNyte looks similar to canvas. Canvas is slightly softer to the touch, FibreNyte is slightly rougher to the touch.
People tend to choose Canvas if they want the bag to age gracefully and look vintage over time. This is particularly true of people who choose our ‘Khaki Canvas’ fabric as this looks particularly lovely as it ages.
People tend to choose FibreNyte if they want the bag to look newer for longer or if they are particularly hard on their gear - for example by carrying the bag to work with them every day, doing a lot of hiking or filling it particularly full. Also Sage FibreNyte is particularly attractive as a colour – it’s probably the most popular colour among our staff!
Yes the shoulder sling can be removed (and reattached after).
No, the bottom is curved.
Yes it is! It can be adjusted between 940mm (37") and 1670mm (65¾") approx.
Yes - the SP10 shoulder pad fits. Other sizes do not fit.
Make sure to choose the colour to match your bag!
The shoulder pad isn't essential but can stop the strap from digging into your shoulder if you're carrying heavy gear inside the bag. It can also reduce the chances of the bag slipping off your shoulder. If you do buy a shoulder pad remember only the 'SP10' size fits.
Make sure to choose the colour to match your bag!
On most of them no, on some yes - but the Galbin is wider than the bags it will attach to are deep front to back. We'll publish more information soon - we wouldn't recommend purchasing them for this purpose though.
A small one with a small lens would fit nicely - especially in the Galbin 10.
If you order from us it will come WITHOUT Leica branding.
